# SPXI — Semantic Packet for eXchange and Indexing

> Pronounced "spexy". SPXI is a protocol and practice of entity inscription: what a work and its surfaces should carry so that a retrieval or composition layer can answer, without guessing, what this is, who originated it, and what operated on it between origination and here. The SPXI packet is one instrument within it: one item of one level of the method inventory.
